Beautiful Taylor 850, 12 string - Amazing Condition
Your next guitar could be this beautiful 850 Dreadnaught model guitar built at the Taylor factory in Santee, CA .
Taylor really re-defined the 12 string guitar, and this dreadnaught model is no exception. The 850 model incorporates a solid Sitka Spruce top, beautiful Indian Rosewood back and sides, and an Ebony fret board and bridge. The pictures really cannot express the deep beauty in the Rosewood on this guitar. And many consider Taylor's golden years of guitars to be 1989-1999. This guitar does have that one piece neck that made Taylor guitars so sought after.
Condition: This guitar condition is excellent considering it's age. The serial # is 87xx . The fret board shows very little play wear. There are only has a couple of small dings on the solid Sitka Spruce top. The Roswood back and sides are still very shiny. There is NO lacquer checking on the top. There some light scatches on the pick guard. And I recently had the guitar professionally set up at Maple Street Guitars in Atlanta. The guitar comes with it's orginal case. The condition of the case is good overall, and it has the vintage Taylor logo on it.
Environment: The guitar has been well cared for in a non-smoking, humidity controlled home, and kept in it's case when not being played.
Sound: This guitar has wide tonal range, and a big sound with excellent balance between the treble notes and bass response. The action is lower, making it easier to play with no fret buzz.
The 850 model is no longer produced, and it's a shame because the dreadnaught lends itself to a wide range of styles, and the body is more comfortable to play than the larger 12 string jumbos. The specs on this guitar are the same as the Taylor 810 guitars, just the neck width is 1 7/8" @ the nut.
